The Best Christmas Present

December 25th, 2010   |   English, Featured Storybook, Storybook   |

Every Christmas, Uncle Santa would go all around the world, giving Christmas presents to all good children.

The naughty children were all angry, as they wanted Christmas presents too!
“It’s not fair! We want Christmas presents as well! If Uncle Santa doesn’t give us presents this time…..wait, I have an idea!”

The naughty children got into their reindeer costumes.

They paid a visit to Uncle Santa and kidnapped his reindeers.

It was time to deliver presents to good children all around the world!
Uncle Santa waved goodbye to the house elves and hopped into his sledge.

Uncle Santa found it weird that his reindeers weren’t flying.
He found it even more weird when they brought him into a forest.

Then it got even weirder!
His reindeers suddenly stood up and ran away with his bag full of Christmas presents!

Uncle Santa was sad that his reindeers ran away with the bag full of Christmas gifts.
“The good children all around the world will be so disappointed… What should I do?”

Suddenly, a little girl appeared from behind a tree and asked Uncle Santa:
“Who are you? What are you doing here?”

Uncle Santa replied:
“Ho! Ho! Ho! I am the famous Uncle Santa, who goes around the world giving presents to good children every Christmas!”

The little girl then said:
“Oh… I have never heard about you, but my mom says Christmas is……”
And she went on and told Uncle Santa what her mom taught her.

After hearing what the little girl said, Uncle Santa got an idea!

On Christmas morning, a good child woke up to find the cookies and milk she prepared for Uncle Santa was still there.

She asked her mom:
“Mom, I think Uncle Santa didn’t drop by this Christmas…is he sick?”

Mom replied:
“I’m not sure, but I noticed there is a letter for you in the post box.”

A letter? The good child went and opened up the letter.

“Dear good child,

I am not able to give you any Christmas presents this time around, but I have something even better!
Christmas is not about the presents from Uncle Santa,
but a day to remember how much God loved us and gave us the best present ever, his son Jesus Christ.
Good child, If you understand what this means, you have already received the best Christmas present!

With love,
Uncle Santa”

After reading the letter, the good child smiled. She has just gotten the best Christmas present!

As for the naughty children…

Oh and not forgetting the bag full of Christmas gifts!

I sincerely hope each and everyone of you would receive this best Christmas present ever!
Wishing you love, joy, and peace every day your lives~
Merry Christmas :D

The Luckiest Child

December 13th, 2010   |   English, Featured Storybook, Storybook   |

It was a quiet Saturday morning, and the best thing of all was….there is no school today!
Just like every other Saturday morning, Charlie, the little chick, tip-toed and waltzed into the kitchen.
Breakfast has always been his favorite meal of the day.

Happily, he hopped up the cupboard, to take a peek at what Mummy has prepared for breakfast.
“Sweetcorn again!? Mummy….why do you cook sweet corn everyday…I already told you I am tired of having sweetcorn!”

Angrily, he dashes out of the kitchen and sat in the big sofa chair in the living room, mumbling to himself:
“Sweetcorn everyday…..sweetcorn every single day…..hmmph!”

Seeing that Charlie was angry, Daddy sat down beside him and tried to comfort him, saying:
“Come sonny boy! Lets take a ride to the beach on my trusty bike!”

Charlie got even angrier:
“Come on daddy, everyone is driving cars nowadays and yet….you are still driving an old rusty motorbike!”

Ignoring the calls from his parents, Charlie ran out of the house and slammed the door behind him.

Charlie walked, walked, and walked.
Mumbling to himself, while staring absent minded’ly at the floor until….

Bang!

“Ouch!” Charlie shouted, as a big red lump appeared on his forehead.

He accidentally bumped into a big pillar.
He was so angry that he kicked the big pillar with his tiny leg.

“Ouch!” Charlie shouted, as his feet swelled up and turned red.

“Why are you so angry little Charlie?”

Surprised, Charlie looked up and realized that the big pillar was actually Uncle Elle’s big nose.

Charlie was still angry, and complained to Uncle Elle:
“Uncle Elle! It’s all mummy’s fault, she only knows how to cook sweetcorn every day! And daddy…everyone else is driving cars but he is still driving an old rusty motorbike! Sigh….I’m the unluckiest child in the whole wide world.”

Uncle Elle was concerned, he gave some thought before he asked:
“Charlie, do you have a house?”

Charlie answered:
“Of course! It’s the one just by the river.”

Uncle Elle nodded his head, saying:
“That’s very, very good. There are many children out there who do not even have a house.”

Uncle Elle then asked:
“Charlie, do you… wear underwear?”

Charlie answered:
“Of course! Mine even has Ultraman on it!”

Uncle Elle nodded his head, saying:
“That’s very, very good. There are many children out there who do not even have clothes to wear.”

Uncle Elle then asked:
“Charlie, do you go to school?”

Charlie answered:
“Of course! My mummy says the government says all children must go to school.”

Uncle Elle nodded his head, saying:
“That’s very, very good. There are many children out there who do not even have the chance to go to school.”

Smiling gently, Uncle Elle asked:
“Little chick, have you had your breakfast?”

Charlie kept quiet.
He knew that Uncle Elle would tell him that there are many children out there who do not even have food to eat.

Ashamed of himself and his attitude, Charlie stepped forward and hugged Uncle Elle tightly, and said:
“Thank you so much Uncle Elle…I understand now.”

He said goodbye to Uncle Elle and immediately rushed home.

Mummy and Daddy were waiting for him in the living room.

Charlie ran and jumped right into their arms, hugging them tightly, saying:
“I am so sorry, I have been complaining when I should be thankful instead.”

Happily, Charlie had breakfast with his Mummy and Daddy.

After breakfast, Charlie hugged his Daddy tightly as he brought him on a ride to the beach on his old rusty bike.

He finally understood, he was the luckiest child in the whole wide world.

December 9th, 2010   |   Featured Storybook, Storybook,

“又是jagung(玉蜀黍)!?

“Bang”
